Last Sunday the government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon
overwhelmingly approved a unilateral withdrawal of all the
Israeli settlements in Gaza and four in the northern West
Bank by a vote of 17-5.

Since the evening in 1968 when 1,000 people packed the
auditorium of Bais Yaakov of Borough Park for the sixth Siyum
HaShas, the excitement surrounding a Daf Yomi Siyum
celebration — both in the weeks prior to the respective
event and on the exhilarating day itself — has
triggered an increased interest in Daf Yomi learning and
Torah study in general.
Final Arrangements for Shas Siyum Completed

The Preparatory Committee working to coordinate the various
Shas siyum events held a series of meetings on Sunday
to finalize arrangements in advance of the event scheduled to
take place at Yad Eliyahu.

council workers, who say they have had enough of the promises
issued by the Prime Minister and Finance Ministry officials

night based on the UTJ rotation agreement signed prior to the

English-language Daf Yomi Siyum in Jerusalem Draws Torah

Thousands of seats have been reserved for the first English-
language Siyum HaShas of Daf Yomi in Jerusalem, which will be
held on Wednesday evening 21 Adar I (March 2, 2005). While
most of the participants live in Israel, there are many who
will be attending from abroad.

Remembrance of the Exodus in Yeshiva

Levenstein ztvk'l, whose yahrtzeit is 18 Adar. HaRav
