Israeli Reaction to Palestinian Provocations Unlikely Until Next Week
by M. Plaut, A. Zisman and Yated Ne'eman Staff

A ten month old baby girl was murdered by a Palestinian sniper on Monday afternoon in Hebron, a car bomb exploded in the Talpiot neighborhood of Yerushalayim on Tuesday morning (injuring five), a suicide bomber injured 29 including one very seriously early Tuesday afternoon near French Hill in Yerushalayim, an eighteen-year-old yeshiva student was stabbed in his stomach by a young Arab on Tsafririm Street in Ramot Monday afternoon...

Shameless Murder of an Infant

The abject murder which occurred Monday night in Hebron lowers the cruelty-level of Palestinian terror to an additional depth of corruption and savage depravity.

Another Meah Shearim Miracle
by Betzalel Kahn and M. Plaut

Residents of Meah Shearim were saved last Wednesday from a huge explosion from a bomb planted in a parked car that was dismantled before it could explode. This is the fourth such incident in the last two months.

by M. Plaut

The Bank of Israel reduced its key lending rate for April by 0.3 percent to 7.2 percent yesterday. Some analysts had expected only a 0.2 percent reduction as in recent months.

Most Individual Palestinians Got Poorer Since '93
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Research shows that the average PA resident enjoyed greater prosperity prior to the establishment of the PA, when they were under Israeli administration. The leadership and those close to them live well, but the average Palestinian is much worse off.

Ice And Fire: A Different Sort of Holocaust Story
by Rabbi Avi Shafran

It wasn't the most exciting or terrifying tale of the war years I had ever heard, or the saddest or the most shocking. But somehow it was the most moving one.

OPINION & COMMENT

Still Struggling to Exist

Now the situation is that Israel, or prime minister Sharon, is said to demand the cessation of terror as against the Palestinians who demand that Israel ease the blockades of their cities and the other restrictions that were placed upon them. One demand against the other. This is absurd.

Additional Luach Information

The minhag is for the Mora DeAsra to say a deroshah on Shabbos HaGodol to inform the community of the numerous halochos of matzoh and chometz and many read part of the Haggodoh after Minchah.

On Thursday night, the eve of 13 Nissan (April 5), is the search for chometz -- bedikas chometz, and the chometz is burnt the next morning, erev Shabbos (13 Nissan) until the end of the zman sreifas chometz.

On erev Shabbos, 13 Nissan (Apr. 6) is the fast of the firstborn - Ta'anis Bechoros.

The last day for Kiddush Levonoh -- Nissan

One can make Kiddush Levonoh in the entire world until Sunday morning, 15 Nissan (April 8), at 11:27 A.M., Israeli time. In most of Europe the final time is the entire leil hachag, and in most of America and Canada their final time is according to the difference in time zones in comparison to Eretz Yisroel. In the extreme eastern countries it is possible to make a berochoh on Yom Tov Sheini Shel Goliyos (the second day of Yom Tov) according to the difference in time zones in comparison to Eretz Yisroel. Of course, this concerns only someone who bedi'eved did not make a berochoh until the night of bedikas chometz that is this year on the eve of 13 Nissan. It is bedi'eved preferable for him to make a berochoh on leil Shabbos and Yom Tov than to forfeit it altogether.

The astronomical full moon is on Sunday morning at 5:23 A.M., six hours and four minutes earlier than the nigud emtzo'i, and eleven hours and forty-two minutes earlier than the end of the full fifteen days from the molad. This month one should not make a berochoh even bedi'eved relying on the time of fifteen full days after the molad.
