The Last Day
The Death of a Martyr

by Yisca Shimony

A slight noise was heard from the street below. The daylight, as well as the noise, filtered in through the broken pane of the small window. The public life of the Warsaw ghetto street seeped along with the noise and cold air into the small room upstairs. Expecting Miracles: Finding Meaning and Spirituality in Pregnancy through Judaism

by Chana Weisberg
Published by Urim Publications
Reviewed by Judith Weil

Before I married, I rarely went to the doctor. I was a healthy young woman and my medical wellbeing was taken for granted. All of this changed when I was awaiting our first child. A secret is like a long piece of string held by two people. One feels even the slightest tug from the other end.

Your Medical Questions Answered!
by Joseph B. Leibman, MD

Two issues I must deal with. You must understand that the emergency department is designed for the stabilization of patients and the identification of those who need admission. We are often beset by patients asking, "Then what do I have that caused it?" The appropriate response is indeed, "I do not know, but I can assure you it isn't anything dangerous."

Osteoporosis Smarts!
by Dr. Reuven Bruner, Ph.D.

As we age, our bodies change and become more prone to disease. Some diseases progress gradually and do not cause symptoms right away. One such disease is osteoporosis, often referred to as the silent disease.
