Sano to Market New Pesach Consumer Products in Israel
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

At a special news conference held for the chareidi sector, the Sano conglomerate presented its wide range of kosher for Pesach products. This year it is marketing a line of innovative products. There is a 30 percent rise in the sale of cleaning products every erev Pesach. The "Sano Clear " line of products, including dishwashing sponges and wipes pre-moistened with detergent, was presented.

Bruno Landsberger, founder and chairman of the board of directors of Sano who has received the Industrial Prize for his life's work, noted that this year's line of kosher for Pesach products is wider than ever. In an explanation of his company's preparations for Pesach, Landsberger noted that in light of public demand, Sano has made considerable investments to develop new products with a mehadrin hechsher, including dishwashing detergent, toothpaste, tooth-whitening pastes and, for the first time, scrub pads for use on Pesach. The company is currently attempting to develop wet wipes for babies and disposable plastic gloves for use on Pesach.

Landsberger stressed that a product's success is measured not only by its introduction to the market, but by maintaining its market share. "Sano, which must compete with the largest such companies in the world, leads the Israeli cleaning supplies market because of its intensive research and its striving for a high level of quality and safety, one of the highest in the world. In addition, its prices are competitive and it aims to meet consumer needs, including, of course, those of the chareidi sector."

For an example, Landsberger mentioned the development of refill bags, an innovation from the '70s: a result of the fuel crisis and the rise in the price of plastic. Refills became popular because they saved space as well as money, and are more popular than ever due to current ecological and waste treatment concerns.

Before the upcoming chag, Sano will distribute one million copies of its new catalog. This year, for the first time, the catalog will include instructions for optimal use of the products.
