LETTER FROM YOUR EDITOR

An open letter sent by BEGED YAD LEYAD to fifty seminaries/yeshivos of students from abroad. This also applies to families leaving Eretz Yisroel. Or to anyone wishing to donate stuff: carriages, toys, housewares etc.

We are running low on summer stock. We need your help!

Sivan 5764

Dear Friends,

The school year is winding down about this time. We hope that it was a successful one and that the students will have maximized their blessed opportunity of spending a year of study in Eretz Yisroel. We trust that they will take a great deal of spiritual `baggage' home with them to last a lifetime.

Ah -- but they won't want to be burdened by much of the clothing they have worn throughout the year. Surely, they will be more than happy to donate it and know that needy people in Eretz Yisroel will be wearing the selfsame items even when they have already left.

Yes, we want your clothing, bed linen, towels, shoes, toiletries and whatever you can spare.

Who are we, anyway?

BEGED YAD LEYAD is a network of clothing centers in Jerusalem, Kiryat Sefer and Elad servicing a very happy clientele comprised of young mothers and grandmothers with large families (!), new immigrants, single parents and baalos tshuva who require new wardrobes. Our satisfied customers come back time and again. Kollel wives say they could not manage without us, that we uphold sholom bayis and many young girls tell us that they met their future husbands in clothing from the gemach.

So how do we connect?

Call us / leave a message at 5372303. If you can arrange for transportation, all the better. Volunteer drivers:

Ramot, Arzei Habira, Sorotzkin -- Yisroel Chaim 050-539075

Gush 80, Ganei Geula, Belz -- Etty 5271712

Givat Shaul, Har Nof -- Dan 064-318390

Clothing can be left in the yard at Panim Meirot 1 without prior notice or by the Gemach itself at Panim Meirot 2 or at Rashi 91. It will be sorted and distributed.

Hoping to hear from you, or see you, very soon, I remain,

Most sincerely and hopefully yours,

Sheindel Weinbach, Coordinator
