Economic Prospects for the New Government

At the ceremony marking the change in ministers at the Finance Ministry, the incoming minister Binyamin Netanyahu was all business. He said that the main immediate task is to bring the Israeli economy to a safe harbor, and that Israel can still expect rough sailing in the immediate future. He noted that the entire government, including the prime minister, must pitch in to get out of the mess and then ended simply: "Chevra, let's get to work."

The medrash (Shemos Rabboh parsha 52:3, on the posuk [Shemos 39:33]), "And they brought the Mishkon to Moshe," quotes the posuk, "Her garments are might and splendor and she laughs on the last day" (Mishlei 31) and asks, "What is `on the last day'? All the reward due to tzaddikim is prepared for them in Olom Habo. This is the what `and she laughs on the last day' means."

Willpower Can Break the Smoking Habit

Smoking can without a doubt become addictive so much that a person can find it exceedingly difficult to break this bad and dangerous habit. Nonetheless, Torah- observant Jews who have trained themselves to "break their yetzer" have a good chance of success--if they so desire. It is an undeniable fact: Have you ever met a frum smoker who ever questioned his being able to refrain from smoking on Shabbos Kodesh?
