Krias Kodesh of Maranan Verabonon
Bs"d, Isru Chag Pesach, 5762
In light of the difficult situation prevailing in Eretz
Hakodesh, it is clear that we need rachmei Shomayim and
that we cannot pin our trust on one particular element or
another or rely on any specific individual. The Chofetz Chaim
often said that there is no way to save ourselves from
chevlei Moshiach except by following the counsel of the
Torah hakedoshoh.
IDF Begins Pullout in Kalkilya and Tulkarm
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Under intense pressure from the US, Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon ordered the IDF to begin pulling out of Kalkilya and
Tulkarm. The redeployment began after repeated statements
over several days by US President Bush that Israel must begin
its withdrawal "without delay."
Stopping False and Disloyal Israeli and Foreign Media
by A. Ben Aharon
Anti-Israel pronouncements in the foreign press are nothing
new, but recently the government has begun to take resolute
steps to counter negative press coverage.
Found at Arafat's Headquarters: Weaponry, Counterfeit
Currency and Incriminating Documents
by Betzalel Kahn
At Arafat's headquarters in Ramallah (the "Mukata"), dozens
of soldiers were engaged in a new type of war: gathering as
much weaponry, information and documents as possible. Their
efforts bore fruit, for Arafat had a prodigious store of
weapons and documents.
South African Jews Show Solidarity As Government Condemns
Israel
by D. Saks
An estimated 5000 people crowded in and around Johannesburg's
Oxford Synagogue on chol hamoed Pesach to attend a
solidarity prayer meeting for Israel. The gathering over
Mincha-Maariv, described as the largest, most
successful and most stirring event for Israel to have taken
place in South Africa in recent memory, was called by the
Union of Orthodox Synagogues and SA Rabbinical Association in
response to the worsening situation in Israel and was fully
supported by the various independent shtieblach.
Raviv Trial Opens, Adjourned till July
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Six-and-a-half years after the assassination of prime
minister Yitzhak Rabin, and three years after charges were
first brought, the long-awaited trial of former Shin Bet
agent provocateur Avishai Raviv opened last week in the
Jerusalem Magistrate's Court. It was soon adjourned for three
months.

Words and Facts do Not Match in the Middle East
by Mordecai Plaut
Even as Palestinian officials report facts that are pretty
consistent with official Israeli reports, their general
descriptions of what is going on are flights of fantasy.
OPINION &
COMMENT
Where is the Incipient Palestinian State?
If the Palestinians are struggling to found a state of their
own, they have given no indication of this. Aside from
foreign language press interviews, none of their words and
deeds is consistent with such a goal.

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
Writing for Children
by R' Zvi Zobin
Word processors and desk-top publishing have opened the door
for many people to try their hand at writing and publishing
books. It is easy to tell a story to a child so it is
tempting to regard writing books for children as an easy way
to become an accomplished author.
