No Simple Sucking Candy

It was such a relatively minor incident, but upon reflection, quite significant. The last time I was in Geula, I had put on some extra walking mileage in order to purchase a particular brand of sugarless sucking candy.

The Belz Beis Medrash in Yerushalayim: Full Circle
by Yisroel Spiegel

The earliest time of Kiddush Levonoh -- Tammuz

The time of Kiddush Levonoh everywhere in the world begins when it is Tuesday night, the eve of 2 Tammuz (July 4). Actually in Eretz Yisroel, eastern countries, and most of Europe it is impossible to make a berochoh on the moon this night since its beginning time is after the moon sets. However, in northwest Europe one can make Kiddush Levonoh according to the difference in time zones in comparison to Eretz Yisroel. In America one can make Kiddush Levonoh from the beginning of that night.

At this month there is a solar eclipse whose peak is at 10:33 A.M. and the appearance of the astronomical new moon is at 10:20. There is therefore reason to consider making Kiddush Levonoh earlier in Europe by approximately a hour and a half.
