One word comes to mind whenever one thinks of Rabbi Yaacov Rosenberg, zt'l, who passed away Shabbos Parshas
Zochor: unique. Every Jew, of course, is unique -- born
with certain kochos hanefesh that are his or hers
alone and with a particular mission in life.
Preparation for Kabolas HaTorah
A compilation of thoughts from the gedolei hadoros zt'l about our yearly kabolas HaTorah on Shavuos and
the importance of studying on Shavuos night and day.
The Sefas Emes (parshas HaChodesh) cites the
Zohar to the effect that someone who acts properly
during the Sefiras HaOmer period will be zoche
to a good decree on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Perhaps the
reason is that Shavuos is dependent on the spiritual
preparation one makes during the sefirah.
