Are There Really Cheap Election Flights?
To the Editor:

On page 8 of the 30th of Nisan issue of your newspaper, there is an article regarding an "Airtrain" for UTJ voters in the upcoming elections.

Since my relatives could benefit from such a flight to vote for UTJ and be here for Shavuos, I went to the Degel HaTorah Office in Yerushalayim to find out details.

Rabbi Frank said he never heard of such a thing and called the Aguda Office. They said it must be from Rabbi Porush's office and to go there. So I went over to the Aguda office on Press Street.

There they said it might just be a newspaper reporter's imagination!

A friend of mine then contacted someone who works in Rabbi Porush's office who said that they heard of a $180 flight. They then called the number listed in the paper, which was out of order. In any case, the number was not associated with UTJ!

Thank you very much,

Dovid Lerner

P.S. I did find that Yesha (settlers movement) is offering a $180 flight in for the election but on that flight you cannot leave right after Shavuos (as your article implied) but must stay until June 2nd. After further investigation it ended up that Yesha was not the sponsor, though they are advertising it, but rather Netanyahu's office.
