City of Haifa to Start Including Chareidi Sector in Pesach Activities

By G. Lazer

With the help of UTJ representative Aryeh Blitenthal and Rabbi Yisrael Shlomai, a member of the Chareidi Matnas Board, this year for the first time the Haifa Municipality will include Pesach activities aimed at the chareidi sector.

Children will be able to attend three special plays during Chol Hamoed, Nekuda Tova, Meshaneh Habriyot and Achim Beleiv, which have been approved by Mishmeres Hakodesh Vehachinuch of Bnei Brak.

The activities will be held at the Beis Yaakov hall at Rechov Beitar in Haifa. Tickets cost just NIS 10 and separate hours for boys and girls will be arranged.

Mr. Yaakov Broder, director of Hadar and the Matnas, initiated the idea to expand cultural events to the chareidi sector as well, saying that he is proud that for the first time chareidi children will be able to take part in events designed to suit their needs and that have received rabbinical approval. The director of Esnachto thanked the principal of the Beis Yaakov school, Rabbi Menachem Ostri, for agreeing to place the school's hall at their disposal and Mr. Broder for showing special understanding and making accommodations for the spiritual aspects of the events.
