OPINION & COMMENT

"As If He Himself Left Egypt"

by Maran HaRav Elozor Menachem Man Shach zt"l

[This shmuess was delivered in 5743.]

Part II

The first part explained how clear it is and how much testimony there was to the truth of the events around yetzias Mitzrayim. The entire generation that went out was, in effect, a witness to what is written in the Torah. This shmuess strongly reflects the elemental emunah that Maran HaRav Shach stressed continually stressed in so many of his talks.

Additional Luach Information

The minhag is for the Moro De'asra to say a droshoh on Shabbos HaGodol to inform the community of the numerous halochos of matzoh and chometz and many read part of the Haggodoh after Minchah.

On Thursday night, the eve of 13 Nisan (Apr. 17) is the search for chometz - bedikas chometz, and the chometz is burnt the next morning, Erev Shabbos, 13 Nisan (Apr. 18) until the end of the zman sreifas chometz. On Thursday the firstborn fast—Ta'anis Bechoros.
