Tefillos for HaRav Kadouri's Recovery Continue

by Betzalel Kahn

HaRav Kadouri, who has been hospitalized at Bikur Cholim in Jerusalem for several days with a severe case of pneumonia, is showing slight improvement in his condition.

According to hospital spokesmen, on Monday afternoon doctors decided to connect HaRav Yitzchak ben Tifcha to an innovative respirator designed to gradually wean the patient from artificial respiration. The $35,000 device was donated to the hospital on Monday.

This is the second device of its kind operating in Israeli hospitals. It has the unique ability to automatically check the patient's breathing rate and to adjust the oxygen supply in accordance. The more the patient breathes independently the less the device interferes.

"Connecting the Rav to the respirator which weans the patient from the reliance on it indicates a stabilization in his medical condition and another slight improvement," said one of the treating physicians.
