Europe Continues to Send Money to PA Despite Hamas Win

The Europeans decided on Monday to go ahead and send a monthly contribution of 35 million Euro to the PA to pay PA salaries and "humanitarian aid" even before Hamas meets their stipulations to recognize the State of Israel, to abandon terror and to honor international agreements and commit to negotiations.

Amnon de Hartog, head of the Justice Ministry's department of support funding, who told the Education Ministry to withhold the stipends pending an inquiry into the matter.

Funding Clauses for Chareidi Institutions in Hadera for First Time

Following concerted efforts by Hadera City Councilman Rabbi Ben Tzion Nordman (Degel HaTorah), who serves as chairman of the City Finance Committee, the city budget was approved with clear, legally-binding paragraphs providing a total of over NIS 1 million ($220,000) in funding for chareidi institutions. The committee also decided to restore support clauses after a hiatus of many years.

Child Healthcare Project at Jerusalem Kindergartens

The City of Jerusalem's Department for Public Health, in cooperation with the Department for Chareidi Education, is running a Childcare Health project aimed at instilling children with an appreciation for proper oral hygiene and good nutrition. The experimental program, adapted to accommodate the chareidi public, is being implemented by a staff of observant nurses and rhythm teachers.

The roof of Shaarei Shomayim, a shul located in the Lower East Side on Rivington Street, collapsed due to winter weather and the damage may be irreparable. The sifrei Torah were not damaged because the beis knesses only uses the ground floor, whereas the roof caved in over the third floor.
