What existed until only a short while ago simply as a presumption, was verified officially now. One who circulated in cities and chareidi neighborhoods was privy to a wave of posted notices and negative advertisements that have flooded the streets for years. The central theme being plastered on billboards and dirtying the streets, dealt with amending the draft law as the current subject, where almost every morning new notices, both pro and con, mainly con, vilifying one another. Knesset members, public people, rabbonim and activists, all were smeared on the walls and tread underfoot on the very streets.
In the end, all this costs money: printing huge and colorful adverts, and pasting them up or distributing them, does not happen for free. Someone has to pay for them, as well as for the copywriter to create a catchy message which will capture the eye, going to the printer and paying for the printing, paying someone to 'decorate' them on billboards or paying drivers to distribute this garbage on the city streets. Naive or simple folk believe that there are dedicated sponsors to whom they owe subsidizing this with their own money for this sublime cause, even though it includes slander, evil gossip, defamation, disparagement, spilling innocent blood and similar 'mitzvos' which purify the supreme goal.
And then, along comes this woman, head of one of the protest organizations (the "Kaplanists" or the "Anyone but Bibi Diehards"), who admits full voice, that she is the one responsible for all of these advertisements.
"Just look at the controversies they are involved with," she gloats. "This does not surface by itself but involves years of hard work of a poison machine behind the curtains."
And she is not satisfied until she continues to boast and says, "One of the goals of this campaign is to sow chaos on the chareidi street."
She goes on to tell how she hired a chareidi to explain to her how chareidis think, so as to 'know the enemy.'
We knew full well that there exist such collaborators who, for money, are prepared to sell their souls and religion. And here, the cat emerges from the sack, or the evil denunciations from the printer's block.
Neither supporters of the draft or its opponents are those who stand behind those denigrating notices but enemies of the government who understood that the draft crisis is the way dismantle it. They are the selfsame elements who transformed the hostages as armaments against the government, investing millions in ads and bills in every possible place, and utilizing the dire situation of the families against the government, and continued from there to the subject of army service.
Trump's Sense of Humor
There is no doubt that the American president has a developed sense of humor. Every once in a while he releases a new joke to the world at large, except that each time, someone is the fall guy who pays the price, one way or another.
He promised the Iranian citizens that if the ayatollah regime harms them, he will hasten to their side, and they believed him. They went out to the streets against the murderers of the Revolutionary Guards and began falling right and left. And then they heard Trump declaring full voice that they had not died at the hands of the regime but because of the congestion on the streets. Then, when the mobbing increased and thousands fell victim, they heard the American president boasting that he had prevented to death of 800 arrestees and therefore held himself back from a military intervention.
It is not certain whether the thousands of bodies in the streets of Teheran found time to laugh at his jokes, but they surely learned the hard way that this time, they had been abandoned and no one was going to step in help them.
The Israeli government also discovered the American president's sense of humor. He calls the body which is meant to rule the Gaza Strip on the 'day after' a Peace Council. Members of the selfsame 'council' will come from Turkey, the gracious host of chief murderers from the terrorist organizations , whose leader called our prime minister 'Hitler,' no less. And also Qatar, which underwrites the terrorist organizations and takes financial credit for the murderous actions of Hamas, will also be included in this Council.
And if this fact was not sufficiently ludicrous, Trump suggested Vladimir Putin, the 'well-known man of peace,' whose hands are soiled with the blood of hundreds of thousands killed and injured in a superfluous, totally unnecessary war. Yes, he, too, will be part of achieving peace in Gaza.
