The Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah and of Agudath Israel held a historic joint meeting last Thursday in which maranan verabonon called on the entire community to join forces in order to strengthen United Torah Jewry, particularly in view of the great threats hovering over Am Yisroel and as anti-religious antagonism increases.

On Monday night London police questioned seven suspected terrorists detained when 150 police, security, and intelligence officers raided North London's Finsbury Park Mosque, regarded as a center for Islamic extremism.

Secular and Traditional Jews for UTJ Hold Press Conference

Heads of Secular and Traditional Jews for UTJ (Chilonim Umesoratim Lemaan Yahadut Hatorah or CHULIAH) explained what brought them to support UTJ in the Knesset campaign in the upcoming elections at a special press conference in Tel Aviv last week. The press conference was led by R' Betzalel Kahn, spokesman for the UTJ Central Election Committee, who also delivered the opening statements. Participants included a retired judge as well as a number of businessmen and investors.

Anonymous arsonists torched the main UTJ distribution center late Saturday night (parshas Beshalach) in Jerusalem's Givat Shaul neighborhood, burning large quantities of printed publicity material for the election campaign.

UTJ National Headquarters Working in High Gear

Following a visit by Staff Organization Chairman MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni and Election Day Chairman MK Rabbi Meir Porush, the National Volunteers Headquarters, headed by Rabbi Mordechai Blau, began vigorous efforts to help provide local branches across the country with extra manpower until Election Day.
