Mayor Lupoliansky Receives Blessings from Gedolei Yisroel
by Betzalel Kahn

Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky, who heads the United Torah Jewry candidates list, visited the homes of gedolei Yisroel last week and received their blessings and full endorsement for the upcoming municipal elections in Jerusalem.

The round of visits included Maran HaRav Eliashiv, HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman, HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapira, HaRav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, HaRav Nissim Karelitz, HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, HaRav Shmuel Auerbach, HaRav Gershon Edelstein, the Admor from Vishnitz, the Admor from Gur and the Admor from Belz, shlita. Lupoliansky reported to them on the extensive campaign activities throughout the city and received their blessings both for his mayoral race and for the success of the UTJ City Council list.

They also warned against the plague of reticence, urging each and every individual to lend a hand in the municipal election campaign, considering the many challenges the chareidi representatives face at city hall.

This week Rabbi Lupoliansky continued paying visits to gedolei Yisroel to ask for their blessings in his efforts to increase kovod Shomayim through the momentous battle for the sanctity of Jerusalem and the expansion of chareidi representation in the city.
