Gedolei Yisroel Attend Dedication of Beis Chilkiya Yeshiva Gedolah
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

A new yeshiva gedolah in Beis Chilkiya, headed by HaRav Yosef Shreiber, was dedicated on Rosh Chodesh Elul in the presence of gedolei Yisroel, rabbonim and public figures.

The festive opening ceremony for the yeshiva was held in the evening. The opening was made possible after the family of R' Eliezer Weil allowed the yeshiva to be built on their land. A large building housing the beis medrash and dining hall was built in the courtyard near the Weil home. The building itself was donated by Rav Aharon Fogel, a friend of the yeshiva since its beginning. HaRav Michel Yehudah Lefkovitz graced the ceremony with his presence and addressed the assembled crowd.

Motzei Shabbos parshas Ki Seitzei, the yeshiva students received a visit from HaRav Aharon Yehudah Leib Steinman. HaRav Steinman stressed their great merit as well as great responsibility at the opening of a place of Torah within a chareidi settlement. He extended his blessing that the yeshiva serve as a source of light and support to the entire moshav as well as to the surrounding area. He added his blessing that the bochurim merit to spread the glory of Torah throughout the entire world, as Chazal have taught that one performing a single mitzvah can be the determining factor for the whole world.

"A bochur learns a page of gemora, yet has no idea what he has caused to happen in the Upper Worlds. He causes a revolution and lends strength to the Heavenly Entourage. Happy are you who have merited to set up such a place of Torah that will, besiyata deShmaya, lend support to the entire land of Israel and to the whole world," HaRav Steinman noted.
