Three Times in One Month
by Betzalel Kahn

This isn't the first time this month that terrorist organizations have succeeded in sneaking bombs into Jerusalem's Beit Yisroel and Meah Shearim neighborhoods.

A makeshift bomb was discovered on Shivtei Yisroel Street in front of the Ministry of Education, near Meah Shearim and Beit Yisroel, a month ago. The bomb, made from a demolition brick, was neutralized late at night by police sappers.

Only a few hours later, in the early hours of the morning, calamity was averted after a bomb made of two mortar shells was dismantled. It was discovered in a garbage bin on Shomrei Emunim Street and neutralized by one of the residents moments before it was about to explode. Precisely at the time the bomb was supposed to explode, many avreichim of the Mirrer yeshiva, as well as children on their way to cheder and yeshiva passed by.

On Tu BeShevat, only a few meters from Shivtei Yisroel Street, a powerful bomb was placed in a car parked on Beit Yisroel Street at the corner of Rapoport Street. In this case, the car exploded, but miraculously no one was hurt, except for one person who suffered slight injuries and nine people suffering from shock. (See larger article elsewhere.)
