In the wake of a demand by UTJ's MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, State
Comptroller Eliezer Goldberg announced last week that he will
investigate the entire issue of the transfer of the turbine
on Shabbos. The announcement was made at the Audit Committee
of the Knesset.
Rabbi Gafni presented the State Comptroller with the
following questions: Why hasn't your office investigated
whether the State of Israel is capable of transferring
unusually large components such as the turbine? Who is
responsible for such transfers? How they were executed? Was
traffic disrupted? Were ambulances and other vehicles
transferring the sick to hospitals adversely affected?
The State Comptroller said that he indeed intends to
investigate the entire affair.
