The grand jury investigation into the New York City police shooting of Gidone Busch in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn has found that some of the statements made by police and city officials are not supported by witness accounts of what happened, and are in some cases contradicted, according to a report in the New York Times last Monday.

The Vaad HaRabbonim Haolami LeInyonei Giyur headed by HaRav Chaim Kreiswirth has issued a strong protest against the unacceptable interference by the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA) in rabbinical affairs of Europe as expressed in the fact that "At a request of a prominent rabbi in Germany, the Beth Din of the Rabbinical Council of America prepared materials to assist in the establishment of a beis din in Germany to deal with conversions."

The Negev chareidi community was cast into deep mourning upon learning of the petirah of the righteous Rebbetzin Tova Gittel Deutsch, o"h, wife of HaRav Avrohom Deutsch of Ofakim. She passed away after bitter suffering for five years due to a serious illness. She leaves behind 17 children and a pained, bereft family.
