The cycle was set up by HaRav Yehuda Zeev Segal of Manchester, zt"l, according to the seforim, Chofetz Chaim and Shemiras Haloshon. Because this is a leap year, the new cycle began on 20 Iyar instead of on rosh chodesh Sivan as in regular years.

Siyum at First Yahrtzeit of HaRav Moshe Hagar, zt"l

On the first yahrtzeit of HaRav Moshe Hagar, zt"l, rosh yeshiva of Seret-Vizhnitz in Haifa, a seudas mitzvah and a siyum of Mishnayos was held in the Kollel Beis Tefillah leMoshe. It was attended by a large crowd from all circles, headed by admorim and rabbonim. The current Admor of Seret-Vizhnitz is president of the kollel.

HaRav Shmuel Gutfarb, zt"l

HaRav Shmuel Gutfarb, zt"l, son of Rav Yosef, was born in 5680 (1920) in the Old City of Jerusalem. A pure fire of yiras Shomayim burned within him from his youth, as did diligence in Torah study and zeal on behalf of kevod Shomayim and education of our youth.
