At last week's meeting of United Torah Jewry, it was decided
which functions its representatives would assume in the
various Knesset committees and institutions.
Rabbi Meir Porush was chosen chairman of the faction and
Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz as his deputy.
Rabbi Ravitz and Rabbi Gafni will serve as Deputy Chairmen of
the Knesset. Rabbi Porush will be a member of the Finance
Committee; Rabbi Ravitz a member of the Foreign Affairs, the
Security, the Constitution and the Economy Committees. Rabbi
Litzman will serve on the Finance, the Interior, the Science
and the Labor and Welfare Committees. Rabbi Gafni will serve
on the Finance, the Knesset and the State Comptroller's
Committees, and Rabbi Halpert will be on the Education and
the Absorption Committees.
