Last week, the Kiryat Mattersdorf Refoeinu clinic held a
meeting for women in order to acquaint area residents with
its new services. This keynote of this meeting was "Medicine
and Halocho: the Healing Power of Tefilla."
Hundreds of women came to this highly successful event.
Dr. David Morel, a specialist in family medicine and Refoeinu
director, opened the meeting with a description of the
clinic's services. Dr. Yehoshua Abulafia, director of the
clinic's gynecological services and formerly the director of
the Sha'arei Zedek Hospital delivery room, also spoke.
Dr. Morel told Yated Ne'eman that due to the success
of the event, the clinic hopes to hold such meetings once a
month. He also noted that the new clinic, located in the
heart of the Mattersdorf community on Ponim Meiros Street,
aims to provide broad medical services under one roof, while
maintaining a link between the family physician and
specialists. "The family doctor will accompany his patients
and be involved in all of their treatments," Dr. Morel
explained.
Refoeinu has reached agreements with all of the sick funds,
and a special one with the Kupat Cholim Klalit. The clinic
provides members of Klalit with services from 8 a.m. -11 p.
m., including services generally not offered in clinics, such
as blood counts, throat cultures, bandaging and even cast-
making. These services are provided free of charge to Klalit
members and at reduced rates to members of other sick
funds.
This professional medical plan encompasses all areas of
medicine. Consultations with specialists are subsidized,
costing only 7.50 NIS, half of the cost in other clinics. A
specialist is on duty in the Gynecology Department every day.
The department is equipped with an ultra sound device, a
Doppler and a monitor.
