The Massive Election Rally in Bnei Brak
by Rav Zev Glick
Administrator of the municipal department and coordinator of the election campaign, Rabbi Menachem Shapira, in an interview with Yated Ne'eman: "The One Hundred Thousand Rally of 'United like one body, with one heart,' assembled [like at Mattan Torah at the footsteps of Har Sinai], had repercussions throughout the country. In Bnei Brak alone, an amazing resurgence from a past 52,000 votes to 58,000 votes."
The drama behind the scenes included: the difficulties which the police proposed in the center of the city and the innovative decision to hold the rally on the Mitcham HaSofrim bridge; of the prior psychological anxiety due to the change of venue and the affect on the very location; the upsurge of close to 7000 more votes in Bnei Brak.
