Every hearing in the Netanyahu case of the trials exposes the corruption and decay of the investigators detailed on it, all of whom should have been long since put behind bars.
At the beginning of the week, the defense subpoenaed a retired police officer from the national unit of fraud investigation who was one of those involved in the inquiry of the case. The officer, Oded Ben Moshe, was interrogated by attorney Amit Hadad, who dwelled on the exposure of the investigative steps which were taken by the security system of the prime minister's office. The prosecutor waived aside Ben Moshe's testimony and for good reason.
In the course of the inquiry, it became clear that the prosecution at first sought Ben Moshe's testimony and even requested his presence at refresher meetings so that he could examine the inquiry's various records and be duly prepared for the testimony, but then various discrepancies became clear and were discovered by Attorney Hadad.
The attorney presented the police activation report documenting the lifting of facts from the prime minister's computer records, without any judicial warrant thereof. One of the judges, who could not believe what he heard, asked the man under investigation if this had been at all authorized. He adamantly replied: "No, there had been no official approval."
Furthermore, Hadad displayed to the court certain data testifying that the police had shadowed certain senior politicians who had no connection to the charges during a period not at all connected to the period of the inquiry. Attorney Hadad demanded to know from Ben Moshe how the police had put tabs of those politicians without any legal order and covering a period which was not at all relevant to the charge. The witness replied, "An error, apparently."
The critical break in the testimony was exposed when Ben Moshe was forced to admit that the police unit even possessed records and objective data on one of the investigators which contradicted the quantities and frequencies of champagne and cigars which had been described by witness Hadas Klein in one of the cases (known as 1000), but which the police chose to bury and not show to any representative of the defense.
In simple terms: the police possessed data that the key witness on the case was lying, but chose to ignore those facts which did not tally with the charges.
In short, the gang of civil offenders and noted prevaricators tailored a case to jibe with their basic values and needs, trampling on every rule and law. They concealed facts, obscured and changed others, and all — as a former Chief Commissioner admitted — in the hope that they could bring about Netanyahu's resignation, assuming he would prefer to seek a pardon and closing of the case instead of a long drawn-out, costly and fatiguing court case.
The Covenant of Torah
This coming Friday, our nation will once again renew its covenant with the Creator at the Giving of the Torah at Har Sinai, and its bond with the eternal Divine Torah which the entire People made at the foot of Har Sinai. The Torah scholars represent the very protective wall of the Jewish settlement in the Holy Land, in whose merit, exclusively, the very State of Israel exists. They are the true 'Guardians of the City,' Neturei Karta, and any blow to them is a tangible threat, a thousand-fold more lethal than all of the missiles possessed by our surrounding enemies. In its battle against the Torah scholars, the State of Israel is sawing away the very branch upon which it is sitting. This is the greatest existential threat hovering over us if this struggle is not thwarted.
