The American president is living in an imaginary bubble which he has created for himself, being totally detached from everything taking place around him. He sees only what he wishes to see and ignores what everyone else around him sees.
In his mind, he believes that he has vanquished Iran, totally demolished its army, destroyed all of its leaders, leaving for him only the declaration that the Hormoz Strait is American territory, and thus, to bring an end to the blockade on this energy passageway central to the entire world. Everyone around him is clapping their hands enthusiastically, while the media are criticizing and censuring him, but his does not exist, as far as he is concerned. Whoever even attempts to disagree with him needs to find himself another job. This is how this person lives, focused solely upon himself, his thoughts, his imaginations and fancies, far removed from reality.
Sixty days ago, he signed upon a memo of interest with Iran, when during the ensuing period the two sides were meant to formulate a final agreement regarding the end of the hostilities. Trump strutted about like a proud peacock, as if he had succeeded in bringing an end to the war. Here and there, he fired threats against Iran, while truly believing that the enemy had waved the white flag, surrendering to all of the American demands. He simply does not recognize reality and has no idea with whom he is dealing, while the Iranians treat the sixty day interim which they desperately needed like air to breathe to buy time for the coming melee.
These two months were used by the Ayatollah regime to stabilize their position against the internal insurrection, to increase the production of weaponry, to fortify its hold around the Hormoz Strait and to prepare itself for the next clash with the U.S.
Trump does not savvy the Iranians, but the Iranians recognize Trump. They know that his power is limited due to the internal opposition within his country. He is meant to prepare himself in view of the intermediate elections where his future will be decided regarding the remaining two years of his tenure. If he loses the slim majority in the Senate and House, he will be reduced to a lame duck, devoid of all power and his term in effect will end much sooner than the term of the coming president.
Renewal of the war in his opinion is a very distant option and the Iranians are aware of this and fearlessly threaten that any attempt to fan the war fires will bring upon him a difficult attack from all of the Gulf countries which are cooperating with the U.S.
Trump is indeed a great friend of Israel, but his understanding of what is going on around him is turning out to be very slack, while the Iranians today are far less apprehensive than in the past, having already recognized the American enemy and understood that with a bit of patience, they can overcome Trump and his threats, and proceed with their perilous plans against the entire world.
