OPINION
Some Like Life; Some Like Death

by Yitzchok Roth

Lately, every morning we wake up to another notice released by the IDF for publication, detailing the daily losses in the tough war going on in Gaza. Those horrible words, "released for publication," are heard daily, as more and more families join in those with the terrible losses, new orphans and widows.

This ongoing terrible war, seemingly without end, is begin waged against a murderous terror organization that attacks the soldiers in merciless guerrilla warfare, even though they know that the overall balance of power is not in their favor.

They were raised from a very young age in an educational system that presents the highest goal of a believing Moslem to sacrifice his life in order to murder Jews. Human life has no value in their twisted scale of values.

The whole world has pity on Palestinian suffering. But in truth this suffering is their life's goal. Mothers celebrate when their sons become shaheed. Fathers are happy when their beloved son manages to murder Jews. The entire world heard the phone call of that disgusting murderer on that awful day when he told his family with excitement that with his very hands he murdered ten Jews Rachmono litzlan. What shouts of joy were heard at the other end from his parents: finally their son had fulfilled the purpose of his life. To this he had been educated his whole life and nothing makes his parents happier than to hear that his hands are full of Jewish blood Hashem yerachem.

These are the creatures we have to deal with. The Western world still considers them human beings whose death we should mourn. They celebrate their murderous deeds, but the West ignores the murderous deeds in various Islamic countries and goes out of its way to condemn Israel for defending itself.

The campaigns of Assad in Syria that slaughtered some half a million of his countrymen, did not elicit even a fraction of the condemnation heard against Israel.

This is not mercy. This is not humanity. This is not civilization. This is pure antisemitism, that converts that victim into an attacker.
