Rain and Kinneret Watch

by Dei'ah Vedibur Staff

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret - 5782.

As of March 10 (7 Adar II) 439.8 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This is 96% of the average rainfall for this period and 82% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

In most of the country the rainfall is about caught up to or ahead of the average rainfall for the period. The main rain months are December, January and February, but there is still rain in March.

The current level of the Kinneret is -209.61 meters below sea level, which is 0.81 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It rose 8 cm this past week. Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination. Keep davening.
