Record amounts of rain: From the beginning of the rainfall of this past week, as of Monday already a record high of rain has been registered. This is an amount not seen in decades. A massive flow of water was measured in the Gaaton stream which reaches up until Nahariya, causing flooding of the city streets on Sunday of this week. The roads in the area are still closed to traffic until the debris of the flood is cleared.

Statistics released on Monday morning by the Water Authority of the Ramot Menashe region show a rainfall of 145 millimeters of water, which upped the quantity to a rare full sufficiency in the Kishon basin, Nachal Dala, Nachal Taninim and other places.

According to the data, the greatest quantities of rain of the winter period fell in Zichron Yaakov where 167 millimeters of rain were measured. In Maalot, 115 millimeters were registered while in Kibbutz Ortal in the Northern Ramat Hagolan area, 103 mm. of rain fell. The Meteorological Authority measured 105 mm. of rain in Tel Aviv, most of which fell on Shabbos, when the fatal tragedy of the couple from the Hatikva neighborhood took place.
