The Holy Revolution Against the Internet Continues

By Yechiel Sever

Energetic activity is being felt in the neighborhoods in Kiryat Sefer, Har Nof and Haifa in anticipation of central gatherings, as part of a series of such assemblies throughout the country. Their purpose is to strengthen protection against Internet and similar threatening technological advances through the guidance and encouragement of Torah leadership, under the direction of the Rabbinical Committee for Fortifying the Walls of Religion.

The central rally in Kiryat Sefer will take place under the heading: "Vigil for a Loyal Kirya". The one in Har Nof will be titled: "Uniting for the Sake of our Future" and the one in Haifa will call for: "Standing Up for the Boundaries of Kedusha."

In response to the growing awareness through the many rallies which have already taken place headed by Torah and Chassidus leadership, which were attended by many thousands from all circles and communities, there has been an unprecedented wave of requests flowing into the professional counselling headquarters of the Ve'idas HaRabbonim LeBitzur Chomas Hadas regarding severance from Internet or proper blockage for those who require access due to their work. The headquarters has responded accordingly to solve the various problems halachically —for institutions, organizations, Kupat Cholim sick funds and various other companies in providing proper screening. Blessed cooperation has been seen even with administrators of businesses who are not [yet] considered shomrei mitzvos but who expressed readiness to cooperate in providing adequate protection in order to preserve the quality of work in their establishments.
