Rain and Kinneret Watch

by Dei'ah Vedibur Staff

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret.

As of December 18 (26 Kislev) 242 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 188% of the average rainfall for this period and 45% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

In most places in Israel the rainfall so far has exceeded the average for this period so far. The early burst of rain is slowing, however, and the excess is not as great as it was last week. There has not been much rain in the past week.

The current level of the Kinneret is -212.835 meters below sea level (same as last week), which is just a little above the lower red line of -213 meters. It is about four meters from the upper red line of -208.8 meters.
