A Call by Local Rabbonim in Light of Remarks by Gedolei Yisroel

In a letter published in Iyar 5771 (May 2011), maranan gedolei Yisroel shlita wrote against the various weeklies: "All of the weeklies and the free publications, including Mishpacha, skew and distort the proper Torah worldview we received from our rabbonim, and newspapers of this sort should definitely not be brought into one's home or assisted in any way. Clearly this type of newspaper cannot be granted any sort of rabbinical approval."

Two weeks after a complaint was filed with Beit Shemesh Police against Ha'aretz photographer Alex Libak for verbally attacking a four-year-old chareidi girl and her mother and spitting in their direction, no action has been taken.


Antisemitic Attack on Chareidi Family in Geneva

A chareidi family from Aix-les-Bains, France was attacked in Geneva last week. The father, mother, five children and grandmother drove to the Natural History Museum in the Swiss city during the morning hours. When they arrived, some of them spotted an unidentified youth with a threatening appearance who seemed to be waiting for them to leave the building.

Reb Zvi Elimelech, zt"l was born in 5543 (1783) to HaRav Pesach in Yavernik, Galicia. His mother was a niece of the Rebbi Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk.
