A large crowd, including HaRav Shmuel Auerbach shlita, was on hand Motzei Shabbos Parshas Yisro to lay to rest Rav Yaakov Zev Petrof zt"l, who passed away on Shabbos at the age of 81.


Rav Osher Reichel zt"l

Rav O. Asher Reichel zt"l, who taught Torah for 40 years on Manhattan's West Side, passed away last Sunday in Jerusalem.


"Reb Berel" — HaRav Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, zt"l
In honor of his yahrtzeit, 2 Adar

From that fateful day onwards, the day of the passing of his father R' Yitzchok Zeev, zt"l, HaRav Yosef Dov didn't stop giving shiurim. Reb Berel, as he was known, was commanded by his father to continue teaching the talmidim, a command which he carried out even with mesirus nefesh at times, until and inclusive of his dying day.

Servants of Hashem -- True Liberty

It is a very thin line that divides liberty and bondage, a free man from a slave, and that is the knowledge of to whom one must be bound, whom one must serve. The sign of true freedom is when the possessed recognizes his master. One who deludes himself out of foolishness into thinking that he is a liberated man is in reality a slave, for he is shackled to the impulses of his evil inclination and the desires of his heart.
