Rabbonim Call for Greater Study of Shemiras Halashon and Bein Odom Lechavero During 3 Weeks

Following calls by gedolei Yisroel shlita to make greater efforts to adhere to the mitzvas surrounding interpersonal relations — bein odom lechavero — and guarded speech, shiurim presenting an overview of practical halachos in these areas are being held.
In an open letter published this week, they note that "someone who is not conversant in these halachos cannot hope to avoid the pitfalls of forbidden speech, especially the halachos of loshon hora, which apply in day-to-day living."
The special series of shiurim scheduled for the bein hametzorim period is being held for the fourth consecutive year in botei knesset and botei medrash around the country and is drawing large numbers of participants in the halls of Torah. The number of people taking part in the shiurim, which are sponsored by Notzrei Haloshon, has been increasing from year to year.
