Government Approves Only 300 Housing Units in Beitar Illit

By Eliezer Rauchberger

Beitar Illit is able to accommodate construction permits for at least 3,000 housing units, but the government approved only 300, according to figures Mayor Rabbi Meir Rubinstein presented to United Torah Judaism MKs at a meeting on the housing crisis.

Rabbi Rubinstein called on the MKs to raise the issue before PM Binyamin Netanyahu and other government officials involved in the issue of construction, adding that this is the most available housing solution for the chareidi public.

The MKs said they would raise the issue as part of efforts to help construction in the city gain momentum.
