Development Begun at Achisamach

Heavy mourning descended on Beis Yisroel with the histalkus Monday evening of HaRav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz zt"l, the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh Letzei'irim and a member of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. Among the generation's preeminent roshei yeshiva and leaders of chareidi Yiddishkeit, he imparted Torah, yir'oh and Mussar passed onto him from gedolei Torah of previous generations to thousands of students over the course of seven decades.


HaRav Chaim Stein zt"l

On Wednesday afternoon the Torah world lost one of its most senior roshei yeshiva with the passing of HaRav Chaim Stein, zt"l, rosh yeshivas Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America, the elder rosh yeshiva of America and one of the greatest marbitzei Torah of recent times. He was a remnant of the Lithuanian Torah world, who had studied under the gedolei hador of an earlier generation and was one of the founders of the Torah world in America through his work in Cleveland where he taught thousands of talmidim over a sixty year career.


HaRav Boruch Yitzchok Gutfarb zt"l

Led by maranan verabbonon thousands were on hand to lay to rest HaRav Boruch Yitzchok Gutfarb zt"l, a loyal disciple of gedolei Yisroel past and present, who passed away on Erev Shabbos Parshas Korach following a difficult illness. He was close to Maran HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv and a participant in his daily shiur, as well as an active proponent of various matters of kedushoh, pursuing tzedokoh and chessed while devoting his life to Torah, yeshivas and outreach work.
