Sderot Cuts Off Transport Funding for Chareidi Students

By L.S. Wasserman

Sderot Mayor David Buskila has issued a scandalous directive to stop funding bus services for children from chareidi families enrolled in schools outside the city, while busing for secular children continues as usual.

The chareidi community in Sderot regularly faces problems created by City Hall and the Mayor. For instance the city's Chinuch Atzmai school, where enrollment increased substantially this year, was slated to receive a reinforced structure, but the city reneged on the pledge which was first made two years ago.

As a result students must continue being bused to neighboring Chazon Yechezkel because they lack protection against rocket attacks.
