19 New Dayanim Chosen

After a delay of almost four years, 19 new dayanim were finally chosen by the Committee to Appoint Dayanim. Most of the delays were caused by various motions to the High Court in protest at earlier appointments and potential appointments.
With the appointment of the new dayanim, the pressure on the Rabbinical Courts is expected to ease. MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, who was very involved in the appointment process, said that the appointments were fair.
