Torino Jews Demand Teacher be Fired for Teaching Israel Should be Wiped Off the Map

By R. Hoffner

The Jewish community of Torino, Italy is demanding that a high school history teacher be fired for teaching students that Israel has no right to exist and should be wiped off the map.

The Italian Education Ministry opened an investigation following a complaint that the teacher told his class he supports Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's calls to destroy Israel. He also recommended that his students read Mein Kampf, in which Hitler yemach shmo lays out his racist views.

Tulio Levy, president of the local Jewish community, told reporters the teacher's conduct reflects the wave of anti- Israel sentiment that has come to the city.
