Egged Boosts Frequency of Jerusalem Bus Lines

by Tzvi Sofer

Egged has introduced a series of innovations and improvements designed to serve Jerusalem's chareidi residents.

From 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Line 1 to the Kosel Maarovi now departs every 12 minutes rather than every 15 minutes. In the opposite direction departure frequency has also been increased to every 12 minutes from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Line 5 to the Mount of Olives has become Line 5 Alef. The route and departure times remain unchanged. Egged is now operating a new Line 5 Express Shuttle from the Central Bus Station to the Malcha Terminal via Begin Highway South. At Malcha Terminal passengers can transfer to interurban lines bound for Judea and Hevron. The line offers frequent departure times and a very quick ride.

Line 39 from Atirot Mada to Bayit Vegan will boost departure times from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the opposite direction.

Line 982 is offering greatly increased departure times during Yemei Hashovevim. Sunday through Thursday, Egged provides 14 daily departures from Jerusalem to Tzfas via Meron and 12 departures from Tzfas to Jerusalem.
