Lupoliansky Calls on Government to Complete Security
Barrier Immediately

Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky called on acting PM
Ehud Olmert to complete construction of the security barrier
around Jerusalem by the end of this year.
During the course of a meeting between the two it was learned
that there are several breaches in the section of the fence
surrounding the capital city. Today these openings constitute
a central passage route for terrorists from Palestinian
Authority territory. Only through chasdei Shomayim
were terrorists who recently infiltrated Israel via Jerusalem
prevented from carrying out bombing attacks in the center of
the country.
At the meeting, which was also attended by security, military
and police officials, a decision was made to significantly
boost electronic security at the entry points that remain
open. At the end of the meeting the Mayor thanked Olmert for
issuing instructions to execute inspections and surveys on a
daily basis.
