Abbas and Sharon Declare Separate Cease Fires in Sharm

At the end of a summit at Sharm-el-Sheikh organized by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas declared, "We have agreed with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to cease all acts of violence against the Israelis and the Palestinians wherever they are."

Employment Project for Modi'in Illit Women Gains Momentum

An employment project for the women of Modi'in Illit (Kiryat Sefer-Brachfeld) is gaining momentum and approaching the implementation stages. Within two weeks another business, Image Store, will set up a work center, joining companies already operating in the city under a government program called Call Center initiated by Local Council Head Rabbi Yaakov Guterman.

Government Unanimously Approves Plan to Advance Religious Services

The government unanimously approved a series of proposals by the Prime Minister's Office and the Housing Ministry intended to improve state religious services, including the immediately resumption of construction work on mikvo'os and botei knesses, offsetting the local authorities' debts to the religious councils and transferring the funds directly and increasing the number of positions and funding for mikveh workers.
