HaGemach HaMercazi Takes Another Step to Help Young
Couples

HaGemach HaMercazi, founded by HaRav Gavriel Yosef Halevy,
has made a novel arrangement with Tzifcha International, the
construction company building Achuzat Brachfeld in Modi'in
Illit, to provide immediate loans for young couples with
unprecedented terms.
"Since HaGemach HaMercazi was started," says director Rabbi
Moshe Montag, "we have been closely monitoring the tremendous
difficulty involved in marrying off children. Although the
gemach was set up to this end, unfortunately we cannot
satisfy all the requests for immediate loans."
Following deliberations and consultations with gedolei
Yisroel who guide the gemach, Tzifcha
International agreed to the gemach's request to allow
$20,000 loans to be paid back in 150 interest-free payments
of $133 each.
Tzifcha Chairman, Attorney Shalom Wasserteil is assisting in
granting the loans to apartment purchasers. The initiative is
intended to ease the burden on parents who find themselves
unable to carry out their desire to help provide housing when
their children marry, Wasserteil said.
The gemach management says the number of approved
loans is limited and priority will be given to HaGemach
