A Request to find Someone who Knew HaRav Avrohom Frankel

To the Editor:

This is a heartfelt request to help find some survivors who knew my uncle, zecher tzaddik vekodosh livrochoh, a talmid chochom named HaRav Avrohom Frankel.

I am searching for survivors born in the city of NYARADSZEREDA which today is in Transylvania. My uncle, may his soul rest in eternal peace, was ten years the Head Rabbi of that city. He was taken with his children and wife and with other members of his community to be destroyed by the ogres of Nazism. There is no mention of his name in any archives, because the year was mid-1944 when Germany had one goal: to kill as many Jews as quickly as possible. Therefore they even did not write the names of the victims in any files.

Recently, our family found proof that our uncle (my late father's, may he rest in peace, oldest brother) named Avrohom Frankel finished writing a large commentary to the Even Haezer part of the Shulchan Oruch, which we have not found. But just knowing that our uncle was such a great talmid chochom who has no living descendants, obligates us, the nieces and nephews, to try to find a living link to our learned relative.

Therefore if there are any survivors from NYARADSZEREDA who were teenagers or older at the time of the deportation of the city, and knew our esteemed uncle personally as Head Rabbi, please contact me. My tel. no.: (972) 2-9944319 or cell: 050- 6446103 and my email: a622906@actcom.net.il or mail: Brochoh Frankel, POB 272, Eli 44828 ISRAEL.

Thanking you so much,

Brochoh
