A note of support that Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita
wrote to the members of the Shearis Yisroel beis din
has had a major impact throughout the ranks of chareidi Jewry
and among bnei Torah in particular.
Early this week the members of the beis din of Shearis
Yisroel, who are responsible for the Shearis kashrus system,
publicized a letter noting the importance Maran HaRav Shach
zt"l attached to the setting up of a special kashrus
organization for bnei Torah, and the great dedication
HaRav Chaim Shaul Karelitz zt"l showed in establishing
the organization, which has since gained renown for its
adherence to the highest standards of kashrus under the
guidance of the pillar of horo'oh, Maran HaRav
Eliashiv shlita.
"Unfortunately," write the Shearis Yisroel beis din
members, "from this holy project's inception destroyers and
schemers have risen up to try to harm this special kashrus
organization. However besiyato deShmaya their efforts
failed to `ruin the brew' and the kashrus organization stands
firm with its meticulousness and hiddurim as befits
bnei Torah who are yirei Hashem."
The letter goes on to provide details about the Shearis
Yisroel shechitoh apparatus and the high standards of
kashrus at the Ein Bar Bakery as well as the exacting
supervision of other products, in keeping with HaRav Shach's
wishes.
The letter ends with a call to the bnei Torah public
to buy only Ein Bar bread and baked goods as well as chicken
and beef and other products under Shearis Yisroel supervision
because they adhere to the highest standards of kashrus, and
when planning catered events to order Shearis Yisroel "and to
insist on this, for it is of the utmost importance to
strengthen the bnei Torah kehilloh in general and
[superb] kashrus in particular, and all this helps strengthen
the religion and is an unsurpassed kiddush Hashem."
Below the signatures of the beis din members is a
signed note by Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita reading,
"The words of the Badatz [Shearis Yisroel] hageonim
hatzaddikim do not require chizuk. It is already
known that Shearis Yisroel kashrus is on a very high level,
both the shechitoh system and the other products, and
it is a mitzvah for Torah institutions and every individual
to use products with the mehudar Shearis Yisroel
hechsher, and good blessings will come upon them."
Following the dissemination of the letter on Sunday the
bnei Torah public rallied to the call of this special
kashrus organization, which has been under attack by various
entities seeking to undermine the Shearis Yisroel kashrus and
shechitoh apparatus, which are run by the members of
the beis din with the personal and constant guidance
of Maran HaRav Eliashiv who has gone beyond his normal bounds
to help this kashrus organization.
