Break in Bnei Brak Strike as a Gesture to Residents
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Workers from the City of Bnei Brak's Sanitation Department decided to clean up the city before Shabbos as a gesture to city residents.

Genial meetings were held between Mayor Rabbi Yissochor Frankentahl and Mr. Avi Glili, chairman of the Bnei Brak- Ramat Gan District Histadrut, in an effort to bridge the gap between the two sides and find an amenable solution.

Twenty fires were listed the previous night in the Bnei Brak Fire Station logbook. The firefighters spent all night extinguishing fires set to trash piles throughout the city.

After municipal workers went on strike due to unpaid salaries large amounts of rubbish accumulated quickly. The fire station also received calls to put out brushfires in the city. As a result of the rubbish fires some of the city streets were blocked temporarily.
