Israel Strikes Gaza Five Times

Israel struck Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza hard on Monday. The repeated assaults in such a short time were expected to have a cumulative effect, aside from the individual shocks. The accuracy of the strikes and the indication of the underlying intelligence information implied forces terrorists to work with great caution.

The struggling Jewish community of Bulawayo in Zimbabwe is seeking to put the pieces together following the shocking burning down of their historic shul this past Shabbos Shuva. The shul caught fire from a burning hedge outside, and foul play is not suspected.

Our Answer to Antisemitism is Torah

On Succos, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia, 77, who will retire at the end of October after 22 years in office, made a speech to a summit meeting of the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference, the world's largest Muslim grouping. Among other remarks, he said, "The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million, but today the Jews rule the world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them."
