Betzedek, the American-Israeli center for the promotion of justice in Israel funded by Agudas Yisroel of America, filed High Court appeals against the Justice Ministry's Non- Government Organizations Registrar, the Finance Ministry's Accountant General, the Welfare Ministry's accountant and the Justice Ministry's head of support funding in the matter of funding withheld from NGOs that have a valid Temporary Proper Management Certificate.

Israel Economy Shoots Up in First Quarter

Blowing past the revised, optimistic forecasts of the Bank of Israel and the Finance Ministry, the preliminary figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) showed that the Israeli economy grew at an annual rate of 5.5 percent in the first quarter of the calendar year. The CBS said that the figures may be revised, and should generally be interpreted with caution since there can be significant variation from quarter to quarter.

HaRav Aharon Dovid Dunner, a prominent London dayan who traveled to India to gather information critical to HaRav Eliashiv's ruling, told Yated Ne'eman about the siyato diShmayo during all of his tours and meetings. Sent to ascertain whether the hair is cut at the actual site of the temple and whether the haircut itself is part of the idol-worship, he and his assistants managed to amass extensive information, including classified information normally kept hidden from foreigners.

The article portrayed an Indian woman who "traveled 10 hours by bus to a temple here in southern India to thank lord V. in the best way she knew: by shaving her head" at the Tirupati temple, one of Indian's busiest shrines.
