Year-End Atzeres at Nesivos Moshe
by A. Cohen

Hundreds of parents and other relatives as well as local rabbonim and Chinuch Atzmai and Lev L'Achim heads participated in a moving year-end atzeres at Nesivos Moshe, the Torah-based school in the town of Kadimah in the Sharon region founded a few years ago following a trip to the US by HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman and the Admor of Gur and named after Rabbi Moshe Sherer, late leader of the American Agudas Yisroel.

The event centered around addresses offering chizuk and encouragement to the parents who showed a desire to provide their children with a pure Torah education in spite of the ugly incitement campaign and ceaseless persecution by an organization known as Kadimah Chofshit--including a recent High Court appeal to close the school.

Nesivos Moshe was originally founded in the town of Tzoran, located in the heart of the Sharon, but after persecution by local residents and secular entities, a decision was made at the beginning of 5760 (1999) to move the school to the nearby town of Kadimah, where local council figures and Kadimah Chofshit have continued schemes to close the school's doors.

Despite their efforts enrollment increased during the past year, strengthening the school's hold and increasing its influence in the area, which further goaded anti-religious residents most of whom belong to Shinui and disseminate deceitful propaganda against the school and its projects.

The speakers included principal Rav Yosef Knepplemacher; Rav M. M. Tobias, the local rov who has provided the school constant backing; Rav Yaakov Estreicher of Arachim; Chinuch Atzmai heads Rav Avrohom Lazerson, Rav Meir Luria and Rav Tzvi Boimel, who is also one of the heads of the Nesivos Moshe Foundation; Rav Eliezer Sorotzkin, director of Lev L'Achim; and Mr. Yehoshua Cohen, chairman of the parents' committee.
